Pelosi Goes Off On Trump, Demands He Delete Tweet About Ilhan Omar

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who previously contended that she was equal to President Trump, is now policing his tweets and is demanding that he delete one tweet critical of fellow House Democrat Ilhan Omar.

Pelosi, Omar, and other Democrats claim the tweet and other criticisms Omar has received is causing people to threaten her and her family.

“Following the president’s tweet, I spoke with the Sergeant-at-Arms to ensure that Capitol Police are conducting a security assessment to safeguard Congresswoman Omar, her family and her staff. They will continue to monitor and address the threats she faces,” Pelosi said via the Washington Examiner.

“The president’s words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger. President Trump must take down his disrespectful and dangerous video,” the House speaker continued.

The tweet Pelosi wants Trump to delete has the words “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!” with a video that includes controversial comments Omar made about the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. Here’s the tweet:

Here’s more, from the Washington Examiner:

Omar said during the March speech for the Council on American-Islamic Relations that the organization was “founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

Democrats have rallied around Omar after her comments, claiming that they are being distorted by Republicans. Several of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have come to Omar’s defense, saying that criticism of her statements is “dangerous” and could end up “inciting violence.”

During an interview with ABC News on Sunday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Trump is “wishing no ill will and certainly not violence towards anyone.”

Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw similarly faced calls to delete a tweet about Omar that allegedly spurred threats against her.

“First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something.’ Unbelievable,” his tweet read.

Omar called the tweet “dangerous incitement” and said it added to the threats she was receiving.

Crenshaw doubled down:
