Chick-Fil-A’s Response to Libs Furious They Donated $1.6 Million to Christian Org Will Make Your Day

Chick-fil-A, a bastion of Christian values in the fast food industry and home of the nation’s best chicken sandwich, is facing another attack from the secular Left.

As BizPac Review reports, the latest rage from LGBTQ members comes from a report published by LGBTQ blog Outsports that drew attention to donations Chick-fil-A made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Chick-fil-A prides itself in its Christian roots and often takes principled stances against society’s secular push so it should come as no surprise that they make donations to similarly principled, Christian-affiliated groups.

From BizPac Review:

With Chick-fil-A set to become the third largest fast-food chain in the United States, trailing only McDonald’s and Starbucks, the LGBT community has yet to grasp that it lost this battle a long time ago, but they still persist with the claims the company is anti-LGBTQ.

But then, in post-Obama America, all that is required to warrant that label is to call yourself a Christian.

The LGBTQ blog Outsports called attention to Chick-fil-A donating $1,653,416 to the FCA to support the non-profit Christian sports ministry’s summer camps for inner-city Atlanta youth, noting that the company’s charitable arm “has been continually criticized for its donations to organizations classified as anti-LGBTQ, specifically the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), in the years since the family-owned company declared it would no longer donate to political groups.”

Chick-fil-A Foundation executive director Rodney Bullard addressed the issue, speaking with Business Insider when he said the food chain has a “higher calling than any political or cultural war.”

“The calling for us is to ensure that we’re relevant and impactful in the community, and that we are helping children and that we’re helping them to be everything that they can be,” Bullard said via BizPac Review.

“For us, that’s a much higher calling than any political or cultural war that’s being waged,” he continued. “This is really about an authentic problem that is on the ground, that is present and ever-present in the lives of many children who can’t help themselves. Regardless of where you may find yourself on any particular issue, this is our collective problem and that we all can be a part of the solution. … We all should join together and be a part of the solution.”

As the Christian Post reports, Chick-fil-A regularly receives negative press coverage for their Christian values:

In March, the city council of San Antonio, Texas, voted to bar the chain from opening in the city airport over what they called “anti-LGBT behavior.”

“We hope they will experience for themselves that Chick-fil-A embraces all people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity,” Chick-fil-A told CP in a statement, after it reached out to the city for a dialogue with the council.

This was preceded by Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, rejecting a student body request to allow a Chick-fil-A restaurant on campus.

The university claimed that the fast food company’s views on LGBT issues “have not sufficiently progressed enough.” In response, one of the school’s deans, Cynthia Newman of the College of Business who is a committed Christian, submitted her letter of resignation in February in protest the school’s move.

Chick-fil-A’s corporate values first came under fire in 2012, when its President Dan Cathy affirmed his stance in support of traditional marriage. In 2014, he said he regretted wading into the marriage debate.

  1. Nice post. I learn some thing more difficult on various blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating you just read content using their company writers and use a little something from their site. I’d would prefer to use some with all the content in my small weblog no matter whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll provide you with a link on the internet weblog. Many thanks sharing.
