Joe Biden Tells Anti-Gun Crowd That He Was VP During Parkland Shooting Incident…. He Wasn’t

Former Vice President Joe Biden wrapped up a week of blunders and gaffes with one more as he told an anti-gun crowd in Iowa that he was still the vice president following the tragic shooting incident in Parkland, Florida.

During the campaign stop, Biden claimed he remembered the students affected by the shooting visiting Washington D.C. where they held a rally and met with lawmakers.

Biden claims he was still the vice president when he saw Republican lawmakers dodging the students, unwilling to meet with them.

“I watched what happened when the kids from Parkland marched up,” Biden told the crowd, BizPac Review reports. “I met with them. And then they went up on the Hill when I was vice president. And all those congressmen were like, ‘I’m not here, I’m not here.’”

The shooting in Parkland took place one year after Biden left the White House.

BizPac Review adds:

This latest blunder is one in a long series of epic gaffes that Joe Biden, 76, has made during his decades-long political career. However, the slip-ups have been piling up ever since he announced his presidential run in April of this year.

Two days earlier, Biden was asked who was his favorite historical figure who was not a president. He responded by saying Thomas Jefferson — the nation’s third president.

That same day, Biden accidentally made the racist suggestion that all poor kids are minorities.

“We should challenge students in these [lower-income] schools and have advanced placement programs in these schools. We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright, just as talented, as white kids,” Biden said.

Last week, Biden also lost his cool when a college student named Katie asked him how many genders there are. Biden reacted by forcefully grabbing the young lady’s arm and warned her, “Don’t play games with me, kid.”

Katie said she was very upset by Biden’s angry, physical reaction to a simple question.

“I started to walk away and then he grabs my arm and pulls me back to make eye contact with him again and yells something about marriage at me,” Katie recounted. “So I walked away. I was mad, just very, very mad that someone would actually treat me like that.”

President Trump swiped Biden in a pair of tweets where he questioned whether Biden was “mentally fit” to serve as the president.

“Joe Biden just said, ‘We believe in facts, not truth.’ Does anybody really believe he is mentally fit to be president?” Trump tweeted. “We are ‘playing’ in a very big and complicated world. Joe doesn’t have a clue!”

As Politico reports, Biden admitted to messing up earlier in the week when he said that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”

“Look, I misspoke,” Biden said on Saturday. “I meant to say ‘wealthy.’ I’ve said it 15 [times]. On the spot, I explained it. At that very second, I explained it. And so, the fact of the matter is that I don’t think anybody thinks that I meant anything other than what I said I meant.”
