Former Pres. Obama Openly Endorses Justin Trudeau, Snubbing Biden

Former United States President Barack Obama has yet to throw his support behind a Democratic presidential candidate, an endorsement undoubtedly coveted by the group, but he is speaking out about the Canadian elections.

In a tweet sent on Wednesday afternoon, Obama said he was “proud to work” with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and endorsed him in his re-election effort.

“He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term,” Obama added.

The tweet comes as Obama has refused to publically endorse his two-time running mate and former vice president, Joe Biden, in the U.S. presidential elections.

Biden was all-but-certain to get the endorsement but Obama has yet to do so, raising some speculation.

Some people online immediately made the comparison that Obama is willing to stand up for Trudeau but continues to snub Biden.
