GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik Dismantles Dem Talking Points During Yovanovitch Hearing

For those that missed the second of the public impeachment hearings, they did not miss much.

The key witness, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, testified that she was not an ambassador at the State Department at the time of the controversial call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky.

She had no knowledge of the call and simply provided background information on American-Ukrainian relations and how she and others under the Obama administration sought to govern in relation to Ukraine.

Most of the hearing was politics as usual: Democrats trying to overturn the results of the 2016 presidential election as Republicans sought to defend President Trump against seemingly countless accusations of wrongdoing.

One moment that stood out though took place near the end of the hearing with Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

As Twitchy reports, the New York congresswoman introduced a number of key points about Ukrainian corruption and American aid being sent to Ukraine.

Two main points were made crystal clear during her comments:

  1. The Obama Administration was so concerned about Hunter Biden’s employment with Burmisa, a Ukrainian energy company, that they prepared Yovanovitch for her Senate confirmation with questions concerning it.
  2. Foreign aid was given to Ukraine by the Trump administration—not the Obama administration.

Stefanik shared her own comments in a pair of videos uploaded on Twitter:
