‘Mr. Volker, You Just Took Away Their Entire Case!’ Key Witness Argues No Quid Pro Quo, No Bribery

On Tuesday, Republicans finally got to hear from their first witness in the impeachment process, a former envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker. And, his testimony was felt throughout the committee room.

No quid pro quo. No bribery. No wrongdoing of any kind.

That’s what Volker testified during his public testimony.

This was not the first time Volker testified before the committee but it was the first time he did so in a public capacity.

BizPac Review reports: “Volker faced impeachment investigators for the second time on Tuesday and knocked the legs out from under the narrative by Democrats in their attempts to impeach President Trump over alleged quid pro quo in his July phone conversation with Ukraine’s president.”

Speaking alongside former Trump National Security Council adviser Tim Morrison, Volker said President Trump was innocent of the various accusations against him. The former envoy, who resigned in September amid the impeachment controversy said he met with Trump on multiple occasions and never once did he ever mention he would be withholding aid unless Ukraine investigates the Biden.

Check out the following exchange with Republican Congressman Mike Turner.

“You had a meeting with the President of the United States and you believe the policy issues he raised were valid, correct?” Turner asked per BizPac Review.

“Yes,” Volker answered.

Turner pressed: “Did the President of the United States ever say to you that he was not going to allow aid from the United States to go to Ukraine unless there were investigations into Burisma, the Bidens, or the 2016 elections?”

“No, he did not,” Volker responded.

“Did the Ukrainians ever tell you that they understood that they would not get a meeting with the President of the United States, a phone call with the President of the United States, or military aid or foreign aid from the United States unless they undertook investigations of Burisma, the Bidens or the 2016 elections?” Turner asked, summarizing the Democratic argument against Trump.

“No they did not,” Volker clarified.

“Pretty much, Ambassador Volker, you just took away their entire case!” Turner said in conclusion.

“A great day for Republicans, a great day for our Country!” Trump tweeted after the hearing.
