GOP Rep. Gives 3 Worthy Reasons The ‘Whistleblower’ Should Testify

Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin said there are three reasons the unidentified “whistleblower,” who exposed the contents of a phone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, should be forced to testify before the House Intelligence Committee.

The New York Republican said the “whistleblower” should testify because he may have been politically motivated, that there were serious irregularities with how the individual interacted with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s office prior to going through typical whistleblower procedure, and—perhaps most importantly—the individual never witnessed the call.

Zeldin tweeted: “The ‘whistleblower’ should testify. Dems say no, claiming his role was only to pull a fire alarm. The problem is (1) he seems to have pulled it w/bad intentions (2) it looks like Schiff’s team told him to pull it (3) he never saw a fire. We want to know who told him there was one.”

Zeldin has been vocally critical of the Democratic-led investigation into Trump concerning the “whistleblower’s” claims.

“The transcript for OMB’s Mark Sandy was just released,” Zeldin said in a tweet last week. “The ONLY reason he was ever given why there was a hold on $ to Ukraine was ‘the President’s concern about other countries not contributing more to Ukraine.’ NOT bribery. NOT quid pro quo or any other WACKY Schiff conspiracy!'”

Zeldin’s belief that the individual who blew the whistle on the call should ahve to testify was echoed by other Republican members of Congress.

During an interview on “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace,” Republican Congressman Doug Collins agreed that the “whistleblower” should testify. He said Schiff too should be forced to appear before the committee to testify.

Breitbart reports on Wednesday that Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz said “the whistleblower would be a witness,” if Republicans were allowed to call forth their own witnesses.

Gaetz said, “We would like to call minority witnesses… Hunter Biden would be probably one of our top witnesses. I think the whistleblower would be a witness. And I think that others who can expound on the testimony of George Kent that reflect on the concerns with Burisma and the ingrained corruption with that company.”
