Several people are now criticizing the New Way Forward Act, a Democrat-supported bill that would radically change the immigration system in the United States since Fox News host Tucker Carlson aired its contents on his show.
As the Daily Caller reports, Democratic Congressman Jesús García is credited with first introducing the bill, which calls for “the decriminalization of illegal immigration, would make it more difficult to deport convicted criminal aliens, empower immigration judges to nullify deportation orders, and also calls for the return of previously deported illegal aliens.”
Although the bill is incredibly unlikely to become law anytime soon, it does provide an inside view into how its 43 Democratic co-sponsors think and feel about the U.S. immigration system and what changes they are wanting to make.
The bill, in its entirety, is a disaster, Carlson described in an op-ed. The changes it proposes are “radical” and its ramifications would “entirely remake our immigration system, with the explicit purpose of ensuring that criminals are able to move here, and settle here permanently, with impunity.”
Its impact on the country would be devastating, he theorized.
“At this moment there is a bill pending in Congress called the New Way Forward Act. It’s received almost no publicity, which is unfortunate as well as revealing,” Carlson said in the Fox News op-ed.
He continued: “The legislation is sponsored by 44 House Democrats, including Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. At roughly 4,400 words, it’s almost exactly as long as the U.S. Constitution.”
“The bill would You may think we’re exaggerating for effect. We’re not – not even a little,” he continued.
Adding, “The New Way Forward act is the most radical single piece of legislation we’ve seen proposed in this country. It makes the Green New Deal look like the status quo.”
“A document produced by Democrats to promote the bill says: ‘Convictions … should not lead to deportation,’” he added, reiterating the bill’s intended provision of allowing immigrants to stay in the U.S. without penalty of deportation.
Carlson goes on to describe that the bill would clear immigrants of deportation risk even after they commit “felony convictions – serious crimes that send you to prison for years.”
The host adds:
Garcia brags that the bill will break the “prison to deportation pipeline.” How does the bill do that? Under current U.S. law, legal U.S. immigrants can be deported if they commit an “aggravated felony” or a “crime of moral turpitude” – that is, a vile, depraved act, like molesting a child. Under the New Way Forward Act, “crimes of moral turpitude” are eliminated entirely as a justification for deportation. And the category of “aggravated felony” gets circumscribed too.

Several immigration experts are now weighing in on the bill, the Daily Caller reports.
Federation for American Immigration Reform spokesman Matthew Tragesser said: “The New Way Forward Act is arguably the most radical piece of immigration legislation in American history. The act shields criminal illegal aliens from deportation, decriminalizes illegal entry, and creates a pathway for deported illegal aliens to return back to the U.S.”
The bill makes Democratic priorities absolutely clear, the spokesman added.
“It’s clear that House Democrats care more about illegal aliens than law-abiding Americans and view criminals as victims,” Tragesser said.
Center for Immigration Studies spokeswoman Marguerite Telford similarly noted, per the Daily Caller: “Democrats in the House have prioritized open borders over the safety of citizens and legal law-abiding immigrants.”
Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney declared: “Make no mistake: House Democrats have embraced open borders policies.”
“The ideas included in this radical bill, on top of their plans to give free health care to illegal immigrants and abolish ICE, all would jeopardize the security of the nation and reward people who cross the border illegally. On so many important issues, House Democrats have adopted an extreme and socialist agenda that’s wrong for the country,” she continued.
Adding: “Every day they show the American people why they cannot be trusted with power.”

This is Tucker Carlson’s finest hour.
Tonight he called out an outrageous immigration scam, codified in a new Squad-backed bill.
It’s the most audacious, horrifying, & revolutionary plan yet from the nation’s progressives.

The Bill abolishes the right to control who lives in the U.S., including deported criminals. It's a Democrat sponsored Bill that the mainstream media has decided not to tell us about.
It's the end of America if it passes. Seriously. It's insanity.
