There was only one Republican to back the impeachment process while it was in the House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate, Senator Mitt Romney.
He was the only one in an otherwise entirely partisan push to impeach and remove President Trump from office.
Not only was Romney the only Republican to vote against Trump, but he was also the first senator in U.S. history to vote to convict a president of his own party.
His stand against President Trump is now locked away in the archives of Congress; his betrayal tucked permanently into the historic records.
And, as a result, Romney is facing wave after wave of criticism for his vote.
Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro did not hold back during her show on Saturday where she described Romney as an “embarrassment,” a “loser,” “arrogant,” and a “snake in the grass,” BizPac Review reports.
“Permit me to introduce you to a non-leader,” Pirro said, opening her show called “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”
“The first United States senator in American history to vote to convict the president of his own party — Mitt Romney, the sole and only Republican to vote to convict President Trump,” she snarked. “How dare he! How could he? And why would he?”
“Mitt dared to do what he thought was good for him individually,” the host said. “Not for the party, not for us, and certainly not for America. He knew his vote would change nothing regarding impeachment but he tried to set himself up as a leader, going against everyone else. He took a stand he thought would impress others.”
“It did. Many on the loony left defended him, saying his vote was ‘very patriotic,’” she claimed via BizPac Review, referencing Democratic lawmakers and many other liberals online who have voiced support for Romney.
“The truth is, Mitt, you simply despise Donald Trump,” she said, noting Romney’s betrayal was more on a personal note for him. “Your jealousy of this man is a constant rage burning within you because you can never rise to the heights that he has because guys like you fold like wusses.”
As BizPac Review reports, Pirro then proposed the next step for Romney.
“I have an idea,” she said. “YOU need to be removed from office. How about you get the hell out of the United States Senate? The people in Utah are furious with you.”
