WATCH: Trump Demands Action Against Schumer Following Threatening Comments

President Trump is speaking out after Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer threatened the two conservative justices he appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Schumer said the two “would not know what hit” them, should they vote to restrict abortion while considering a Louisiana case on abortion, June Medical Services v. Russo.

“I want to tell you Gorsuch, and I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” he said.

The comments sparked a strong reaction as Schumer’s own colleagues in Congress rebuked them as “inappropriate” and “dangerous.”

President Trump also weighed in on them, saying Schumer ought to “pay a severe price.”

“There can be few things worse in a civilized, law-abiding nation, than a United States Senator openly, and for all to see and hear, threatening the Supreme Court or its Justices. This is what Chuck Schumer just did. He must pay a severe price for this!” Trump tweeted Wednesday.

In another tweet, Trump described Schumer’s comments as a “direct and dangerous threat to the U.S. Supreme Court by Schumer.”

“If a Republican did this, he or she would be arrested, or impeached. Serious action MUST be taken NOW!” the president added.

The president continued his criticism during a segment with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“As far as Schumer is concerned, it was a terrible thing he said. I was amazed by it and if that were a Republican you would see really bad things happening,” Trump told the host over the phone. “It is very unequal justice, and it is a disgrace that he was able to say something like that.”

The Democrat’s comments stirred a huge reaction online as several members of Congress and mainstream media united to rebuke them.
