‘Got Married’: Ilhan Omar Flaunts New Marriage With Fundraising Chief Who She Denied Having An Affair With

Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar took to social media on Wednesday evening to flaunt her new marriage with Tim Mynett, her former chief fundraiser and political strategist.

“Got married!” she wrote in an Instagram post to her 1 million followers. “From partners in politics to life partners, so blessed.”

The Associated Press reports Mynett was the other party in an alleged affair Omar had during a previous marriage. Omar denied having any relations with Mynett while she was married to her second husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi.

From the report:

Omar’s post didn’t identify the man and a spokesman didn’t immediately respond to messages.

Omar, a Minneapolis Democrat in her first term, was accused by Beth Mynett, a Washington, D.C., woman, of having an affair with her husband, Tim Mynett, who has worked as a political consultant for Omar. Beth Mynett made the accusation in a divorce filing in August. In his own filing, Tim Mynett denied his wife’s assertion that he told her he was in love with Omar and that he was ending his marriage for the congresswoman.

Here’s more, from the Daily Wire:

When asked late last year if she was having an affair, Omar told WCCO, “No, I am not.”

“I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue, and so I have no desire to discuss it,” Omar added.

The Daily Mail reported that the two got married earlier this week at an undisclosed location.

And:

Omar filed for a divorce from her second husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, last October after allegations had swirled for months that she was having an affair.

This is Omar’s third marriage as she has “embroiled in allegations of committing immigration fraud by marrying her own brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in an attempt to facilitate his acquisition of United States citizenship,” The Daily Wire previously reported. “Omar legally married Elmi, a British citizen, in early 2009, and reportedly religiously divorced him in 2011. However, it wasn’t until 2017 that Omar and Elmi obtained a legal divorce — Omar and Hirsi were legally married only a month later.”
