Rose McGowan: ‘I’m Really Sad And I’m Really Tired… I Used To Be A Proud Democrat’

Actress Rose McGowan shared a photo of herself with an emotional rant on Wednesday night, swiping Democrats and mainstream media over their response to Joe Biden accuser Tara Reade.

As Fox News reports, McGowan has been on the frontlines of the #MeToo movement after she identified herself as a victim of convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein. She knows what it means for a woman to come forward with an allegation of sexual misconduct, especially against one with a big reputation, and knows how it feels when a victim is or is not heard by politicians or members of the media.

In her rant, she accused Democratic politicians and their allies within mainstream media of downplaying sexual assault allegations made against Biden.

“I used to be a proud Democrat,” she shared in the Wednesday post. “I used to be a proud American.”

“I thought democracy meant…I had a right to choose those who lined up with my value system,” she continued. “But what if there’s no one?”

McGowan said she used to believe the Democratic Party “were the good guys” but now she was feeling “really quite a sense of loss.”

“Now I know too much,” she added.

McGowan publicly stood behind Reade after a 1993 clip from “Larry King Live” resurfaced last week and appeared to include her mother alluding to “problems” her daughter faced while working for the former Delaware senator.

Biden’s presidential campaign has adamantly denied Reade’s allegations, but the video could be cited as evidence supporting Reade’s claim.

McGowan also recently skewered her former “Charmed” co-star Alyssa Milano, who is now a liberal activist, over the latter’s continued support for Biden despite Reade’s allegations.

“This is about holding the media accountable,” McGowan tweeted at Milano on April 6. “You go after Trump & Kavanaugh saying Believe Victims, you are a lie. You have always been a lie. The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME.”

Several people responded to McGowan’s Wednesday post, encouraging her.

Walk Away founder Brandon Straka, a former Democrat who has since encouraged people to leave the party, also responded.

“I read ur post and identified with so many of your feelings because I went through so many of the same feelings a few yrs ago. I walked away from the Dem Party and it was a very painful decision at the time. Now I know it was exactly the right choice,” he tweeted.
