Chuck Schumer Tries To Blame Republicans For Coronavirus Relief Fails, Backfires Big Time

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is trying to play the blame game when it comes to coronavirus relief and taking further containment and preventative measures.

Taking to Twitter, Schumer asked why Republicans weren’t “focused on testing, PPE [Personal protective equipment], swabs, or unemployment insurance?”

“Why isn’t President Trump leading a nationwide push to increase testing capacity and frequency and awareness?” he continued.

“He refuses to do the work that would allow us to re-open safely,” Schumer added.

Schumer’s tweet is just further evidence that Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus pandemic and are trying to blame any failures on Trump and Republicans — when they could be joining their Republican colleagues in passing meaningful legislation to help Americans in this trying time.

Within 15 minutes of Schumer posting the tweet, Senate Republicans pushed back with just a could corrections.

According to them, the tweet should read:

Why aren’t Senate Democrats focused on testing, PPE [Personal protective equipment], swabs, or unemployment insurance?

President Trump is leading a nationwide push to increase testing capacity and frequency and awareness.

Instead of working together with Republicans, Democrats would prefer the economy stay closed so we can take advantage of this crisis and remake government to fit our far-left agenda.

Boom!

In another tweet, Schumer criticized Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for not holding votes on coronavirus relief legislation.

“Looking at the floor of the United States Senate, you’d never guess that we are in the middle of national health and economic crisis,” he tweeted. “For three weeks, for the entire month of May, Senator McConnell has scheduled no votes on legislation related to COVID-19.”

Schumer is failing to mention that the Senate is actually in session and is wanting to work on legislation to help the country. House Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi are enjoying a recess until July! Many of them are not in Washington, D.C., as she claims the risk of contracting the coronavirus is too high to justify calling the members back to the Capitol.

The facts are simply not on Schumer’s side on this one.
