Fox News host Tucker Carlson had some sharp and pointed words for healthcare professionals that are claiming large groups of people gathering to protest the killing of George Floyd have no increased risk of contracting the coronavirus.
Wasn’t that the entire point of the lockdowns and social distancing guidelines?
Carlson, sharing a letter from over 1,000 “public health advocates” that encourages the protests, asked why Americans were unduly stripped of their constitutional rights in previous weeks but now it’s all fine and dandy?
“For months, as you well remember, the people in charge told you that they were unilaterally canceling your constitutional rights,” the host started. “You no longer had the right to assemble, to speak freely, to worship. You thought those were guaranteed by the Bill of Rights? Not anymore.”
“In fact, in many parts of the country, people still don’t have those rights, but our leaders say they had no choice but to take them away. This was a medical emergency. It was more important than your rights. They were lying. We always thought they were lying. Now we know for sure,” he continued.
“In other words, anybody who complains about being locked down is a racist, except the people who refuse to be locked down because they are protesting racism. Heads, I win. Tails, you lose,” Carlson added. “These are public health officials. This is insanity.”
25 million Americans are out of work, 110,000 people are dead, thousand and of businesses are shutting down, and virtually every facet of American life has been severely disrupted.
Public health experts should not now be telling Americans that big group gathers are just fine.

The Fox News host pointed out what he suggested was a double standard under the coronavirus lockdowns: “Just days ago, you were told any kind of gathering could kill thousands of people. You would be a murderer, you would be a genocidal murderer. That was before we knew that viruses have their own woke political agenda and the only rallies we should ban are those with people who have the wrong ideas, people who want to earn a living or go to church. Those protests are racism.”
The irony speaks for itself, Carlson argued.
“And this is all coming from people who lecture you about science, who wouldn’t recognize science if it got in the shower with them, but who’re still lecturing about science, which is always a pretext for ways to destroy our country and control your life,” he said.
In conclusion, Carlson said: “This is a sham.”
“It was a front for tyrants to inflict their personal neuroses and their desire for control on the United States of America and do it outside the democratic process, outside democratic norms. Every person who signed this letter is a faker. None represent science. We should never listen to any of them again,” he concluded.
The letter Carlson referenced includes more than 1,000 medical experts supporting the ongoing protests.
“[A]s public health advocates, we do not condemn these gathering as risky for COVID-19 transmission,” the letter read. “We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States.”
To further Carlson’s point: In the very letter the medical professions argue in support of the Black Lives Matter protests, argue against the protests against the lockdown orders. They claim these protests (which are mostly peaceful) are “rooted in white nationalism.”
“This should not be confused with a permissive stance on all gatherings, particularly protests against stay-home orders. Those actions not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism,” the medical experts said.
Reminder that we no longer have experts – they’re all political hacks.
