Trump Says Dems Are Getting Away With Promoting ‘Thuggery’

President Trump said he believes Democrats are getting away with “thuggery” as they endorsed protests against police brutality, despite many of them including violent demonstrations.

“BLM Protesters horribly harass elderly Pittsburgh diners, scaring them with loud taunts while taking their food right off their plate,” Trump said in a pair of tweets, referencing an incident that happened last week (seen below). “These Anarchists, not protesters, are Biden voters, but he has no control and nothing to say. Disgraceful.”

“Never seen anything like it,” he continued. “Thugs!”

Trump attributed the continued violence to “weak and pathetic Democrat leadership.”

“And because of weak and pathetic Democrat leadership, this thuggery is happening in other Democrat-run cities and states. Must shut them down fast,” he tweeted.

The president also specifically called out Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris: “Biden and his most Liberal in Senate running mate, Kamala, won’t even talk about it. They won’t utter the words, LAW & ORDER!”

The president’s tweets come after more protests erupted in major cities across the country following the killing of George Floyd in May. The police-shooting of Jacob Blake last month sparked additional demonstrations.

As Twitchy reports, a number of these incidents included clashes between the protesters and the police, or the protesters bothering pedestrians.

And, the Pittsburgh incident that Trump referenced:

Local news station WTAE reports activist Lorenzo Rulli said the now-viral videos did not capture the whole series of events.

“There was an agitator in the crowd who was being aggressive and physical with peaceful protesters,” he said via the report. “We do what we do to keep us safe in any capacity when the police do not engage when it is their time. It’s your time to engage when someone is throwing blows at peaceful protesters.”

“The biker drove through the protest and instead of taking heed to the fact that there was an issue with the noise amongst his group, he actually got off of his bike and engaged violently. He put his hand on someone’s breast,” he continued. “So when we got to the point when he was being engaged I know longer even cared because I saw him put his hands on someone’s breast. My job now is to engage the people who are watching and educate them on what’s happening and that’s what we began to do.”

He added:

People eating at the restaurant, sat there, some of them cheered us on because they saw what happened in its entirety. Some of them asked what was going on. Some of them made really negative statements so I stopped and I addressed that statement and I also addressed a woman who wanted to hear what was going on. To hear why we had to march right through there. Why we were talking to them. A lot of people are saying we’re targeting the businesses, but that’s not the case. We eat at these restaurants. We know most of these owners downtown. They invite us into their spaces. They bring water out for us when we march.
