Kamala Harris: Trump ‘Is Not Concerned About The Health, Safety, And Well-Being Of The American People’

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris has accused President Trump of not caring about the nearly 200,000 Americans who have died as a result of the coronavirus.

During a campaign stop in Florida, Harris described Trump as “an individual who is not concerned about the health, safety, and well-being of the American people.”

“This is an individual who is not concerned about the health, safety, and well-being of the American people and is frankly engaged in a reckless disregard of the lives and the health and well-being of the people of our country. I find it so outrageous,” Harris said of the president, via the Independent Journal Review.

She also claimed Trump “had all this information” on the potentiality of the coronavirus becoming a viral outbreak in January, despite continuing to hold campaign events until early February.

It should be noted that President Trump issued a ban on travel from China at this time. He was criticized by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats for it.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden similarly criticized Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

He waved a white flag; he walked away. He didn’t do a damn thing. Think about it. Think about what he did not do. It’s almost criminal,” Biden said of Trump, during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

“He acknowledges you breathe it, it’s in the air, and he won’t put on a mask. He’s talking about ‘it’s ridiculous to put on a mask, what do you need social distancing for?’” Biden added via IJR.

He continued: “‘Why have any of these rules?’ It was all about making sure the stock market didn’t come down, that his wealthy friends didn’t lose any money and that he could say that, in fact, anything that happened had nothing to do with him.”
