LA Police Officers In Critical Condition After Ambush, Trump Responds With Thunderous Tweet

Two Los Angeles County police officers were shot overnight and were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

The officers were not responding to a call or engaged with any assailants but were reportedly ambushed by a lone shooter as they were sitting in their police cruiser.

According to a video released by the LA County Sheriffs Twitter account, the shooter stealthily approached the vehicle and opened fired on the unsuspecting police officers.

Immediately following the shooting, one of the police officers can be seen opening the door and stumbling out of the vehicle in what could have been an attempt to apprehend the suspect.

“Moments ago, 2 of our Sheriff Deputies were shot in Compton and were transported to a local hospital. They are both still fighting for their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We will update this thread with information as it becomes available,” the LA County Sheriffs tweeted.

“The suspect is still at large,” the sheriffs added.

The incident was recorded and the video was released by the sheriffs. Local news outlets have also shared the video online:
