A crowd at President Trump’s rally in Henderson, Nevada on Sunday evening, chanted that they wanted former President Obama to face justice for allegedly spying on—or facilitating an effort to spy on—the 2016 Trump campaign.
During his speech, President Trump remarked that Obama “got caught” spying on his campaign and that the Justice Department was looking into the situation.
“He got caught,” Trump said during the rally. “We caught him cold. Now let’s see what happens.”
The crowd then began to cheer: “Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!”
The cheer has been previously used on former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton after she deleted thousands of emails she was ordered to have turned over to investigators.

As Trump’s re-election effort is about 50 days away, he has ramped up attacks on the former president.
As the Independent Journal Review reports, Trump accused Obama of committing treason in June of 2020.

Without evidence, the president told CBN News, “It’s treason. Look, when I came out a long time ago, I said they’ve been spying on my campaign.”
He continued at the time, “I said they’ve been taping, and that was in quotes, meaning a modern day version of taping, it’s all the same thing. But a modern day version. But they’ve been spying on my campaign.”
Prior to his remarks, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz told the Senate in December of 2019 that the department “didn’t see any evidence … in the FBI’s files or the department’s files” that Obama asked for an investigation into Trump.
