OVER THE TOP: CNN Panel Mocks Trump And His Supporters As Illiterate, Uneducated

CNN host Don Lemon hosted a segment on Monday evening where his guests mocked President Trump and his supporters, describing them as illiteral and against reading, writing, math, and geography.

Mocking a Trump supporter, guest Rick Wilson said those subjects are for liberal elites.

CNN contributor Wajahat Ali joined in, cracking a smile and laughing before adding to the conversation.

The Daily Caller reports:

Wilson got the party rolling by saying that “Donald Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you had the letter ‘U’ and a picture of an actual, physical crane next to it,” which sent Lemon into a hysterical fit of laughter. They were just getting started.

Wilson went on to sneer at “the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump, the ones that think that” — and here he broke out into a Southern accent — “Donald Trump’s the smart one, and there all y’all, y’all elitists are duuuumb.” Lemon laughed even harder.

Ali chimed in: “You elitists, with your geography and your maps and your spelling.” At this point, Lemon was laughing so hard that he pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his tear-filled eyes.

Wilson, still in a faux Southern accent, added: “Your math and your readin!’”

“Yeah, your readin’, your geography, knowing other countries, sipping your latte,” said Ali.

“All those liiines on the map,” said Wilson, continuing to use the fake accent.

“Only them elitists know where Ukraine is,” Ali shot back, before seeming to half-realize that the panel had gone too far. “Sorry, I apologize,” he said with a smile.

President Trump was quick to defend his supporters and many others criticized CNN, Lemon, and Wilson for the unprofessionalism.

“Don Lemon, the dumbest man on television (with terrible ratings!)” Trump wrote, sharing a video of the exchange.

“Wondering if @cnn is going to acknowledge (apologize) for this arrogant & divisive view of our country. There’s a reason trust in our media is at an all-time low,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted in response.

Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel described the comments as an uncensored show of “disdain for us [Trump supporters].”

“Unlike the liberal hacks on the Left, we had no problem finding Michigan and Wisconsin on a map,” she tweeted, a reference to Democrats failing to campaign in those states in 2016, and this disdain for us (disgusting as it is) only makes us even more motivated to go to the polls.”

Here’s how some more people responded to the segment, per Twitchy:
