‘They Think You’re a Joke’: RNC Turns Viral CNN Segment Into New Pro-Trump Ad

The Republican Party is turning a viral CNN segment into a new pro-Trump campaign ad, encouraging Republican voters to turn out with big numbers in November to re-elect President Trump.

The new ad, called “They Think You’re A Joke,” is centered around a recently aired segment with CNN host Don Lemon and his panel of guests mocking Trump and his supporters as illiterate and uneducated.

Anti-Trump “conservative” Rick Wilson and CNN contributor Wajahat Ali joined Lemon on the segment and are featured in the new ad. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Pete Buttigieg are also in the new ad, with their own criticisms of Trump’s supporters.

BizPac Review reports:

The clip began with 54-year-old Wilson mocking the president’s alleged lack of intelligence and labeling his base the “incredulous boomer rube demo” …

His condescending remarks were then contrasted alongside the equally condescending “deplorable” remarks of failed 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Also included were clips of:

  • MSNBC’s Chris Matthews describing Trump’s base as “low information.”
  • Ali suggesting Trump voters don’t know basic geography.
  • Wilson suggesting Trump voters can’t perform basic math or read.

Throughout the whole segment, Lemon laughed and laughed and laughed.

The new ad looks similar to a previous ad the Republican Party put forth highlighting “the extremist ideologies that have taken over the Democrat party, which threaten the freedoms of all Americans,” the Daily Wire reports.

The ad features, per the report:

  • Beto O’Rourke saying that Democrats are going to confiscate American’s guns.

  • Elizabeth Warren saying she wants to eliminate cars and electricity.

  • Bernie Sanders saying that “you cannot go too far” on pushing radical climate agendas.

  • Joe Biden saying he wants to shut down coal-burning plants

  • Bernie Sanders saying it’s a good thing when people line up in bread lines

  • Beto O’Rourke saying he will have law enforcement go to people’s homes to confiscate guns.

  • Joe Biden agreeing that “a Biden administration means they’re going to come for my guns.”

  • Ted Lieu saying “I would love to be able to regulate the content of speech, but the First Amendment prevents me from doing so.”
