House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer want President Trump investigated again.

Yes, again—after more than three years of investigations, including an impeachment investigation and trial—for a tweet he sent about his attorney general.

“This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!” the president said in a series of tweets.

“Congratulations to Attorney General Bill Barr for taking charge of a case that was totally out of control and perhaps should not have even been brought,” Trump said in the tweet. “Evidence now clearly shows that the Mueller Scam was improperly brought & tainted. Even Bob Mueller lied to Congress!”

The tweet came after the Justice Department overrode a sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone.

As a result, “All four career prosecutors handling the case against Roger Stone withdrew from the legal proceedings Tuesday — and one quit his job entirely,” the Washington Post reports.

“Who are the four prosecutors (Mueller people?) who cut and ran after being exposed for recommending a ridiculous 9-year prison sentence to a man that got caught up in an investigation that was illegal, the Mueller Scam, and shouldn’t ever even have started? 13 Angry Democrats?” Trump added in another tweet.

Pelosi responded to Trump’s tweets, calling him guilty of “political interference” in Stone’s sentencing.

“By tweet @realDonaldTrump engaged in political interference in the sentencing of Roger Stone,” the speaker tweeted. “It is outrageous that DOJ has deeply damaged the rule of law by withdrawing its recommendation. Stepping down of prosecutors should be commended & actions of DOJ should be investigated.”

Schumer similarly said in a letter to Inspector General Michael Horowitz that Trump should be investigated for “improper political interference.”

“This situation has all the indicia of improper political interference in a criminal prosecution,” the senator said. “I, therefore, request that you immediately investigate this matter to determine how and why the Stone sentencing recommendations were countermanded, which Justice Department officials made this decision, and which White House officials were involved.”

Schumer posted the letter in a tweet, captioning it: “To the DOJ Inspector General: I’m calling for an immediate investigation of why the Roger Stone sentencing recommendations by career prosecutors were countermanded. The American people must have confidence that justice in this country is dispensed impartially.”

A one-time Trump campaign adviser, Stone was found guilty in November on seven counts, including five counts of lying to Congress, one count of witness tampering and one count of obstruction of a proceeding.

Stone sought to serve as an intermediary between Trump’s 2016 campaign and WikiLeaks.

Prosecutors were initially recommending up to nine years for the 67-year-old Stone and even requested that he be remanded pending sentencing. A controversial figure known the world over, Stone is not exactly a flight risk.

Fox News reported top brass at the DOJ were “shocked” that prosecutors handling the case had recommended such a harsh sentence.

President Trump took to Twitter to denounce the harsh sentencing guideline, calling it a “miscarriage of justice” — this being the tweet referenced by Pelosi.
