Bloomberg Has Already Spent $400 Million (And Counting) To Try And Beat Trump

Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg has reportedly spent over $400 million in his attempt to beat President Trump and win his party’s nomination.

400 million dollars.

That is more than the second-highest Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer who has spent $193 million, the Washington Examiner reports.

The figure is also ten times as much as the current frontrunner Bernie Sanders has spent.

The Washington Examiner adds:

As Bloomberg’s spending has increased, so has his poll numbers. The former mayor has nearly doubled his support from 8% to 14% in just two weeks according to, RealClearPolitics national average.

Bloomberg’s rise has coincided with Joe Biden’s stumbling in early state contests. The former vice president’s support has dropped nearly 10% in the last two weeks.

Bloomberg has faced criticism from his fellow contenders for buying ads instead of trying to qualify for debates. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar said the billionaire’s strategy is “to hide behind airwaves.”
