Tulsi Gabbard Is Fighting Back After DNC Changes Rules To Keep Her From Debate Stage

Despite mainstream media focusing exclusively on Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, there is a third individual still in the running for the Democratic nomination: Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.

While lagging behind the duo in support, she is still a candidate and is still looking to compete alongside them in the upcoming debate.

The Democratic National Committee, however, has announced they changed the qualifications for the debate as to exclude her attendance.

The Hill reports:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Friday announced new qualifying standards for the upcoming Arizona debate that will leave only the top two contenders on stage.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) did not meet the single qualifying factor: earning at least 20 percent of the delegates awarded as of March 15.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Vice President Joe Biden are the only candidates who have qualified for the debate, which will be hosted by CNN and Univision on March 15 in Phoenix.

And:

Gabbard has two of the 1,385 delegates awarded. Those delegates are from American Samoa, which former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg won on Super Tuesday before dropping out and endorsing Biden.

Six states are set to vote on Tuesday, including Michigan, the biggest electoral prize of the night. It is highly unlikely Gabbard will meet the 20 percent delegate threshold after Tuesday’s elections.

So she’s fighting back.

“I’m sure you would agree that our Democratic nominee should be a person who will stand up for what is right,” Gabbard tweeted, tagging Biden and Sanders. “So I ask that you have the courage to do that now in the face of the DNC’s effort to keep me from participating in the debates.”

She also used #LetTulsiDebate, a hashtag that was trending amid the DNC announcement.

“To keep me off the stage, the DNC again arbitrarily changed the debate qualifications. Previously they changed the qualifications in the OPPOSITE direction so Bloomberg could debate. I ask that you stand w/ me against the DNC’s transparent effort to exclude me from the debates,” she added in a subsequent tweet.

Gabbard has attended the debates in the past, which some people online are speculating could be the reason she is being disinvited to the upcoming debate.

“This is why the DNC will not let @TulsiGabbard debate. They know she will rip Joe Biden to shreds,” one user posted.

Gabbard quickly received some support online:
