Ivanka Trump is standing up to former Vice President Joe Biden after he said the “only person” of the White House Coronavirus Task Force team that should be commenting on the coronavirus is Dr. Anthony Fauci.

In the past four weeks, the task force has held daily briefings where Dr. Deborah Birx, an American physician an expert in HIV/AIDS immunology, vaccine research, and global health, has spoken on the coronavirus and what Americans can do to prevent its spread.

President Trump, Vice President Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and others have also spoken.

The president’s daughter tweeted to Biden and asked him why he was looking to silence Birx.

“Dr. Birx is an Army Colonel and a subject matter expert who has dedicated her life to fighting infectious diseases. Why shouldn’t she also be able to speak?” said Ivanka Trump, who also serves as a senior adviser to her father.

The New York Post reports Biden, the unofficial Democratic presidential nominee, was speaking during an interview with MSNBC affiliate TMJ4 when he said: “We’d be better off if the only person we heard from the White House was Dr. Fauci.”

“The hospitals in Milwaukee have less than a week’s supply of things they need,” he continued. “There are three things that need to happen: testing, tracking, and treatment.”

“Follow the science,” Biden added. “We’re taking too much time.”

According to the report, Trump Victory representative Anna Kelly released a statement saying the president is more concerned with defeating the coronavirus.

“President Trump has led a decisive and aggressive approach against the coronavirus since January, and he continues to prioritize the health and safety of the American people, especially our most vulnerable,” she said.
