Joe Biden Finally Answers How Tara Reade Allegations Are Different Than Kavanaugh

“For he, not for me” must be Joe Biden’s new unofficial slogan for how voters should apply the “believe all women” mantra between him and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

In 2018, Kavanaugh faced an allegation of sexual assault by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford—one that almost derailed his confirmation. Biden fully supported Ford and said her accusation should be taken as true on its face. He also echoed calls that Kavanaugh should have to prove his innocence in testifying and being subject to an FBI investigation over the allegation.

“The woman should be given the benefit of the doubt and not be abused again by the system,” he said at the time.

Where’s this same standard for Biden?

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski asked him that very question during a Friday interview: “Why is it different now?”

“Do you regret what you said during the Kavanaugh hearings?” she also asked.

“What I said during the Kavanaugh hearings was that she had a right to be heard,” Biden answered. “The fact she came forward [and] the presumption would be she was telling the truth unless it’s proved she wasn’t telling the truth.”

If that’s the case, where’s his FBI investigation?

Or, how about at another point of the very same interview when Biden claimed media should vet the claim before he should have to answer for it?

“Look, from the very beginning, I’ve said believing women means taking the woman’s claims seriously when she steps forward then vet it. Look into it. That’s true in this case as well. Women have a right to be heard and the press should rigorously investigate claims they make. I’ll always uphold that principle. In the end, [as] in every case, the truth is what matters.”

But, AG Conservative wrote in a tweet: “This was not the standard that he and many on the left/media wanted applied to Kavanaugh or even most accused college students.”

“That’s the problem,” the page added. “Now they expect everyone to just ignore their shifting standard without any admission that they were wrong.”

“You see the problem? He’s trying to apply 2 different standards at once depending on who is being accused,” the page said in another tweet.

Some others challenged Biden on the line, noting he never said the media should “rigorously vet” Ford’s accusation of Kavanaugh.
