Bill Gates Defies Pelosi & Liberals, Calls For Reopening ‘Almost’ All Schools In The Fall

Billionaire Bill Gates has called for schools closed by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic (and Summer break) to reopen for this Fall.

During an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” the Microsoft CEO said simply, “the benefits outweigh the costs.”

As the Daily Wire reports, Gates said this includes schools “in almost every location” to be reopened.

“I’m a big believer that for young children, the benefits in almost every location — particularly if you can protect the teachers well — the benefits outweigh the costs,” he said during the interview.

The billionaire said there could be some exceptions for older students or those who are more likely to get the coronavirus.

“As you get up to age, like, 13 and higher, then you’ll have to look at your locale to decide what you’ll do with high schools,” he said. “And if they’re not in, then you have to put a massive effort into trying to get there to be continued learning online.”

Gates said reopening the schools would not have any major impact on the coronavirus death rate, which he argued would continue to be lowered.

“You can see the therapeutic benefit faster than the protective benefit,” he said via the Daily Wire. “So I think there’s a good chance we’ll have substantial death rate reduction by the end of the year with the combination of those new tools.”

The comments put Gates in rare agreement with President Trump who has repeatedly vocalized his interest in reopening schools in the Fall.

Trump has said, however, that he is ultimately allowing the states to dictate their own decisions.

“SCHOOLS MUST REOPEN IN THE FALL!!” he tweeted earlier this month.
