Trump Responds To Jacob Blake Shooting, To Visit Kenosha Amid Continued Protests

President Trump is scheduled to visit the Kenosha area on September 1 as people continue to protest the police-shooting of Jacob Blake on August 23.

The initial shooting was recorded at different angles, showing Blake fleeing from officers before law enforcement officers claimed he reached for a weapon in the front seat of his car. Law enforcement officers also claimed Blake had a knife in his hand at the time of the shooting. The videos also show that other forms of non-lethal force failed to detain Blake.

In the days since the shooting, hundreds of protesters have marched in the streets of Kenosha and have claimed the shooting is another example of police brutality.

Speaking with a group of reporters, President Trump described the shooting incident as “not a good sight.”

He also said via BizPac Review: “I didn’t like the sight of it. And I think most people would agree with that. I’m looking into it very strongly. I’ll be getting reports and I’ll certainly let you know pretty soon.”

Since the protests have overwhelmed local law enforcement, President Trump has repeatedly said he would be willing to send National Guard troops to quell the violence.

Kenosha’s Democratic Mayor John Antaramian even thanked Trump for the federal assistance, though without specifically naming him.

“The police and sheriff and the National Guard that are here from all over the state and the feds that are helping us, we appreciate and give them a great deal of credit for helping us get to where we are today, where the violence has dropped dramatically.”

BizPac Review adds:

Democrat-run cities have been under siege by Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters since the May 25 death of George Floyd, a black man with an extensive rap sheet.

These riots have continued because the media are stoking racial division and promoting the lie that “racist” white cops are killing black men en masse, despite statistics showing this is false.

Jacob Blake’s shooting is the latest catalyst for the mass rioting, looting, assaults, and property destruction in liberal cities.

Blake was shot and wounded by police while resisting arrest.

The police were trying to apprehend Blake because he had an outstanding arrest warrant for felony sexual assault and violated a restraining order filed by his former girlfriend.
