Fox News Shuts Down Newt Gingrich After He Calls Out George Soros

A bizarre moment on Fox News Wednesday afternoon quickly made its rounds on social media as the network seemed to shut down frequent guest Newt Gingrich for criticizing liberal billionaire George Soros.

In his closing remarks, Gingrich said the billionaire was contributing funds to hire “progressive district attorneys” across the country.

The former House Speaker also alleged Soros should be blamed for the millions he was pouring into the races.

But the host and a fellow guest said Soros should not be criticized.

The trio remained in awkward silence until the show ended.

So not even Fox News can speak critically of Soros?

The network saw plenty of backlash online with Republican congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene asking why Soros was “off-limits.”

“Dems say they want money out of politics, yet their hand is out for his checks,” she added.

Conservative journalist Robby Starbuck, who initially shared the video, followed up his tweet with several more tweets of reports that Soros has contributed money to various races across the country (backing Gingrich’s initial claim).
