Trump Responds After Gov. Whitmer Blames Him For Kidnapping Plot

In a series of tweets, President Trump addressed the foiled attempt by violent anarchists to kidnap Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Thankfully, state and federal law enforcement officials arrested and charged the individuals who were planning the incident ahead of their execution. The shocking report also was a wake-up call to the country that we should all do something about political hostility.

So, Whitmer responded to the plot calling for unity and peace.

“This should be a moment for national unity, where we all pull together as Americans to meet this challenge head-on,” she said.

However, in the same presser, the Democratic governor blamed President Trump for it, accused him of emboldening extremism, and said he had “legitimized” violent groups.

Axios reports Trump responded to the initial incident calling it a “dangerous plot” and said he does “not tolerate ANY extreme violence.”

He added:

Governor Whitmer of Michigan has done a terrible job. She locked down her state for everyone, except for her husband’s boating activities. The Federal Government provided tremendous help to the Great People of Michigan.

My Justice Department and Federal Law Enforcement announced today that they foiled a dangerous plot against the Governor of Michigan. Rather than say thank you, she calls me a White Supremacist—while Biden and Democrats refuse to condemn Antifa, Anarchists, Looters, and Mobs that burn down Democrat-run cities.

I do not tolerate ANY extreme violence. Defending ALL Americans, even those who oppose and attack me, is what I will always do as your President!

As Axios reports, Whitmer ultimately thanked federal law enforcement officials.

“Thank you to the fearless FBI agents. And thank you to the brave Michigan state police troopers who participated in this operation,” she said.
