Joe Biden did not have an answer when he was finally asked about an explosive New York Post report that alleged his son’s relationship with a Ukrainian energy company resulted in the company gaining favor from the Obama administration.
The report draws a line from Hunter Biden, to Burisma, to Joe Biden, and then right back to the Ukrainian government and a reporter finally pressed Biden to address it.
CBS News’ Bo Erickson kept the answer vague, asking Biden for any response to the report.
Biden said he had “no response” before describing the Post report as a “smear campaign.”
The former vice president then swiped Erickson and mainstream media for asking the question.
Erickson tweeted: “He called it a ‘smear campaign’ and then went after me.”
“I know you’d ask it. I have no response, it’s another smear campaign, right up your alley, those are the questions you always ask,” Biden answered.

I asked Joe Biden: What is your response to the NYPost story about your son, sir?

Twitchy reports several people responded to the exchange defending Erickson:
Rut Roh — #JoeBiden isn't smart enough to know he shouldn't bite the hand that feeds him. He pushes the media away — his cover is lost! For some reason this is trending with Paula — I guess she defended the reporter. https://t.co/6baKVVKsJp

Congrats on being one of the few journalists on the campaign beat.

This reminds of the tone Biden took when being challenged on his law school claims in 88. https://t.co/DmY4BzEEgn

I thought critizing the press was an attack on the free press 🤔🤷♂️ https://t.co/xyc24pVn4Y

I thought attacking the media was bad?
Or was that another 'only for Republicans' rules?
This was a legit question. https://t.co/ixWlY92V77
