New York City Police Department officer shot an alleged carjacker, reports the Daily Caller.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said the undercover cop, who hasn’t been identified by name, left work when an armed man tapped on his car window with a gun.

The undercover officer exited his vehicle, pulled his gun, and engaged in a firefight with the alleged carjacker, striking the suspect in the chest and arm.

Allegedly, the car thief wrapped one firearm in a rubber glove and had the other stashed in his anal cavity. The suspect has been arrested at least seven times since 2011 with one apprehension for vehicular manslaughter.

From The Daily Caller:

The car thief, who is said to be 28-years-old, has been transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

The officer was unscathed but authorities said the suspect had a knife and two firearms.
