Shortly after news broke that President-Elect Joe Biden broke his foot while he was playing with one of his two dogs, the current man in the White House took to Twitter to wish him a swift recovery.
“Get well soon!” President Trump said in a tweet, sharing footage of Biden leaving the hospital after being treated for the injury.
NBC News White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell initially tweeted the video, saying it showed Biden leaving an orthopedic office in Delaware.

The Biden campaign initially announced the injury, detailing that Biden had “twisted his ankle.” The statement confirmed Biden was seen by a medical specialist for a full evaluation.
“On Saturday, Nov. 28, President-elect Biden slipped while playing with his dog Major, and twisted his ankle,” Biden’s office said, as the Daily Wire reports. “Out of an abundance of caution, he will be examined this afternoon by an orthopedist.”
The Daily Wire went on to report that the foot injury was worse than Biden’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor initially thought.
In a statement, O’Connor initially said he did not believe Biden had suffered a fracture and diagnosed the injury as an “ankle sprain.”
“President-elect Joe Biden sustained a sprain of his right foot,” O’Connor said after an initial X-ray. “Initial X-rays are reassuring that there is no obvious fracture and he will be getting an additional CT for more detailed imaging.”
After additional imaging tests, however, the doctor confirmed the existence of several “hairline fractures.”
“Follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden‘s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot,” O’Connor said. “It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks.”
The physician added: “Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture, but his clinical exam warranted more detailed imaging.”
