Demi Lovato Comes Out As ‘Non-Binary’ Prefers Everyone Calls Her A Different Pronoun – ‘I Came Into My Truth’

Demi Lovato came out as “non-binary” and now prefers to be called “they/them, according to The Daily Wire.

“Today is a day I’m so happy to share more of my life with you all- I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary & will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward,” Lovato posted in a Twitter thread.

“This has come after a lot of healing & self-reflective work. I’m still learning & coming into myself, & I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me,” she continued. “I’m doing this for those out there that haven’t been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones. Please keep living in your truths & know I am sending so much love your way xox.”

“I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off,” Lovato stated.

“You mean sexually fluid?” Joe Rogan questioned.

“You like girls? You like boys?”

“Yeah, anything, really.”

“What do they call that? Like pansexual or something like that?”

“Yeah, pansexual,” Lovato responded.

“I’m done living other people’s truths.”

“I’m here to tell you that I’m going to live mine no matter what you think of it because it feels right to me.”

“It’s both insincere and incorrect to pretend that gender reveal parties are not transphobic,” Lovato said on her Instagram.

“You can’t have your proverbial pink-blue binary cake and eat it too.”

“This is not about political correctness, it’s just…correct.”

“We condemn gender reveals not because of our identity, but because of reality.”

“Transphobia is not just about prejudice against individual trans people, it’s also a way of thinking that understands non-trans people as more natural/organic and erases everyone else,” Lovato remarked.

“These ideas, like the gender binary, fuel mistreatment of all people, but especially trans and gender non-conforming people.”

“I’m so excited to bring you into the 4th Dimension with myself and my incredible friend, [Alok Vaid-Menon].”

From The Daily Wire:

Singer Demi Lovato on Tuesday announced that she’s officially changing her pronouns to “they/them” and identifying as “nonbinary.”

The pronouns, she said in a video posted online, “best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression, and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering.”

The 28-year-old added that she recently “came into my truth,” and will continue to share these details with her fans.

In March, the former Disney star announced that she is “sexually fluid” and “pansexual,” meaning she is attracted to “anything, really,” The Daily Wire reported:

During the discussion, Lovato similarly emphasized the importance of speaking one’s “truth.”

Notably, Lovato has said in the past that she is ashamed to be white and declared gender reveal parties “transphobic.”

The former Disney Channel star made an emotional return to the stage for the first time in nearly two years to debut the song “Anyone” at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards in January 2020.

At the time, Lovato took to the Staples Center stage in Los Angeles for her first major live performance since being hospitalized for a drug overdose in July 2018.

Last May, Lovato announced a starring role in a Peacock show investigating UFOs called “Unidentified with Demi Lovato,” according to HuffPost.

On Wednesday, Lovato also announced the launch of a new podcast called “4D with Demi Lovato.”

The Instagram post announced, “Episode 1 of #4DwithDemi is NOW LIVE wherever you listen to your podcasts!!”
