An explosive new poll indicates that Harris is the most unpopular vice president since at least the 1970s.
How are top Democrats fighting back? What is the explanation for these horrible ratings?
Now they’re claiming it’s due to “sexism” and “misogyny” rather than actual poor job performance.
According to the Economist/YouGov poll, 48 percent view the vice president “unfavorably.” Among this group, the vast majority [40 percent], said they did so “very unfavorably.” Democrats will presumably find these unpopular polling numbers to be very alarming with the 2022 midterm elections quickly approaching.
It gets even worse. The poll indicates that Harris is even struggling among young voters and Hispanic voters, possibly due to her handling of the US border crisis.
To fight back, top Democrats reportedly held a dinner to discuss ways to fight back against negative perceptions of the vice president, according to Axios. This included former DNC officials and presidential advisers. They blamed “sexist overtones” in media coverage for the poor approval rating.
Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg also tried to explain the poor approval rating for Harris during an episode on “The View”:
Harris, of course, has seen her popularity plummet in recent months as she bungles the border crisis — and as people have gotten the chance to know her.

Recall this uncomfortable interview with NBC’s Lester Holt in which she couldn’t offer a lucid explanation as to why illegal migrants continue to stream across the border:
“We have to deal with what's happening at the border.”@VP Kamala Harris spoke exclusively with @LesterHoltNBC on her first trip overseas, how the administration is addressing the immigration crisis, and if she plans to visit the southern border herself. pic.twitter.com/sA4We7peeR
