Apparently, advocating for a secure and closed southern border is only “racist” or “xenophobic” if President Donald Trump says it.
But when Barack Obama says it, it’s no longer racist.
“We have borders,” Obama said in an interview with ABC News host Robin Roberts.
“The idea that we can just have open borders is something that… as a practical matter, is unsustainable,” Obama added.
The comment comes as a surprise to conservatives because Democrats have pushed aggressively for an open border.
It appears some Democrats are beginning to realize the disastrous impact of Biden’s current strategy at the southern border.
Obama acknowledged that Joe Biden was still dealing with migrant emergencies on the Southern border.
Obama said it’s a “painful reminder” that America had not fixed the broken immigration system.
“As big-hearted as he is, nobody understands that better than Joe Biden,” Obama continued.
“And the question is now: Are we gonna get serious about dealing with this problem in a systemic way, as opposed to these one-offs where we’re constantly reacting to emergencies?”
Over 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants have gathered in a camp under the border bridge of Del Rio, Texas.
Thousands were allowed into the United States under Biden’s administration.
