Gen. Milley Exposes Pelosi During Testimony, Suggests She Encouraged Him to Undermine Trump’s Ability to Launch a Nuclear Attack

The Daily Wire reported that in addition to Gen. Mark Milley claiming that he sought to “cool down” foreign military leaders with multiple calls to a Chinese general in the days following Jan. 6, he suggested that in a conversation with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, she recommended that he hinder former President Trump’s ability to order a nuclear strike.

Since Jan. 6, Speak Pelosi has revealed that she used several strategies that sought to render former President Trump powerless. One of the actions that she took was contacting Mike Pence, while he was in office, with the intention of enacting the “25th Amendment” for the remainder of Trump’s presidency.

She also disclosed on social media in January that she communicated with Gen. Milley in an attempt to prohibit former President Trump from launching a nuclear attack.

“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike.” Pelosi wrote in a statement to fellow legislators.

“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy.” added the Speaker.

Journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa authored a new book, “Peril” which quotes both Gen. Milley and Pelosi as being in agreement that former President Trump was “crazy”.

The book claims that Gen. Milley assured Pelosi that “a lot of checks in the system” are in place to prevent a situation where a president launches a nuclear strike without proper reasons and support.

According to the book, Pelosi said to Milley; “He’s crazy. You know he’s crazy.”

In reference to the Capitol riot, Pelosi added; “He’s crazy and what he did yesterday is further evidence of his craziness.”

Woodward and Costa wrote in their book that Gen. Milley agreed with Pelosi on “everything”.

The phone call was described by Gen. Milley while being interviewed by Congress about the withdrawal from Afghanistan this week.

“Speaker of the House Pelosi called me to inquire about the president’s ability to launch nuclear weapons,” he said to the senior legislators. “I sought to assure her that nuclear launch is governed by a very specific and deliberate process. She was concerned and made various personal references characterizing the president.” said the general.

“I explained to her the president is the sole nuclear launch authority and he doesn’t launch them alone and that I am not qualified to determine the mental health of the President of the United States.” claimed the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Gen. Milley told the commission; “There are processes, protocols and procedures in place and I repeatedly assured her there was no chance of an illegal, unauthorized or accidental launch.”

“By presidential directive, and Secretary of Defense directive, the chairman is part of the process to ensure the president is fully informed when determining the use of the world’s deadliest weapons. By law, I’m not in the chain of command and I know that. However, by presidential directive and DOD instruction, I am in the chain of communication to fulfill my legal, statutory role as the president’s primary military advisor.” added the military leader.

Gen. Milley verified that he explained the process in which nuclear strikes require on the call, but claimed that Pelosi did not accurately represent the phone call when she claimed that she put effort into preventing Trump from launching an attack.

“At no time was I trying to change or influence the process, usurp authority or insert myself in the chain-of-command,” Gen. Milley said to the commission.
