Breaking: Restraining Order Filed Against Pelosi by Gen. Flynn

Breaking: Gen. Flynn Files Restraining Order Against Pelosi

Retired U.S. General Michael Flynn is fighting back against Democrats and a few anti-Trump Republicans who are part of the witch hunt known as the January 6th House Select Committee.

The committee claims to be investigating the events of January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol, hoping to pin it all on President Trump. Democrats have created a false narrative that the events of January 6 were an organized attempt to overturn the presidential election result despite an FBI report that has already vindicated Trump.

The committee mailed General Flynn a subpoena that ordered him to hand over documents and appear for a deposition. They also want access to his phone records.

In response, Flynn filed a complaint to stop the subpoena.

He also filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction specifically against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Flynn only served under President Donald Trump for a few weeks at the beginning of the administration in 2017, which was three years prior to January 6th, 2020. Nonetheless, the committee is apparently casting their nets as wide as possible, hoping to find dirt on Trump.

Flynn’s complaint named all nine members of the Select Committee as defendants and the motion singled-out named Pelosi as the only defendant.

More from Western Journal:

“The Subpoena commanded General Flynn produce documents in response to twenty sweeping and vague demands covering a year and a half time frame — by November 23, 2021. Further, it commanded General Flynn to appear for a deposition on December 6, 2021, ” the complaint read.

The complaint explained that at the time of Jan. 6, (and during all the times relevant to the subpoena and committee investigation) Gen. Flynn was a private citizen who personally held doubts and beliefs about the integrity of the 2020 election — but that is no crime, the complaint argued.

“It is not a crime to hold such beliefs, regardless of whether they are correct or mistaken, to discuss them with others, to associate with those who share the same belief, or to ask the government to address such political concerns,” the filing read.

Flynn raised concerns over the subpoena. But the committee “stubbornly refused to provide any clarification or cooperation to resolve these issues,” the complaint read.

The complaint stated that the committee has been rushing to refer any non-cooperative witnesses to criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice for contempt of Congress.

“Thus, General Flynn is caught between alternatives that both risk criminal prosecution by the Department of Justice, either in an ongoing criminal probe, or in a new prosecution for contempt of Congress,” the filing read.

FBI officials quoted in an exclusive Reuters report have blown the Democrats’ narrative about Jan. 6th wide open.

The report confirms the events of Jan. 6th at the U.S. Capitol were not “the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result.”

The evidence shows that roughly 96% of cases on Jan. 6th were “one-off incidents” and only 4% could be tied to various militia-type groups. These groups were still not centrally coordinated.

“FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump,” the report reads, adding that “the FBI has so far found no evidence that he [President Trump] or people directly around him were involved in organizing the violence, according to the four current and former law enforcement officials.”

This vindicated Trump as being falsely linked to allegedly inciting or organizing the events of Jan. 6th and wrongfully banned by social media platforms.

A former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation explained, “Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases. Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized,” he added.

“But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages,” he concluded.
