The pop icon eventually left Hollywood and says moving to Kentucky has been an “amazing experience.”

“I’m like, living in Kentucky, and I have for almost a month now,” Perry told fans. “And that’s quite an amazing experience. Because it reminds you that Hollywood is not America. You need to remember that. Because I think you can understand people better.”

Referring to Hollywood, she continued, “Yeah, I mean they’re living in a bubble of sorts. We’re living in a bubble. Our bubbles are completely opposite. But they’re — it’s interesting.”

Perry’s breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of her second album, One of the Boys. The album spawned the hit singles “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot N Cold,” which both reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Perry’s third album, Teenage Dream, was even more successful, selling over 10 million copies in the United States alone. The album spawned five number-one singles, a record for a female artist.

Explaining her religious upbringing in 2010, Perry said, “I wasn’t ever able to say I was ‘lucky’ because my mother would rather us say that we were blessed, and she also didn’t like that lucky sounded like Lucifer. Deviled eggs were called ‘angeled’ eggs. I wasn’t allowed to eat Lucky Charms, but I think that was the sugar. I think my mom lied to me about that one.”

Perry has continued to release successful albums and singles throughout her career. Her album, Smile, was released in 2020. She has also starred in several films, including The Smurfs and Zoolander 2.

In addition to her music career, Perry is also a successful businesswoman. She has her own line of fragrances, shoes, and clothing. She is also a judge on the singing competition show American Idol.

Perry is a global icon who has inspired millions of people around the world as well as a role model for young people around the world.
