New White House Associate Communications Director Tyler Cherry faced backlash as old racially charged, anti-police, and anti-Israel tweets from his social media account resurfaced, prompting a swift clean-up of his posts over the weekend.

Cherry deleted most of his posts and expressed that his past views no longer align with his current support for the Administration’s agenda, particularly focusing on climate and environmental policies.

“Past social media posts from when I was younger do not reflect my current views. Period. I support this Administration’s agenda — and will continue my communications work focused on our climate and environmental policies,” Cherry wrote.

Critics captured screenshots of the controversial posts, including references to Palestine, police, and racial issues.

“Cheersing in bars to ending the occupation of Palestine – no shame and [expletive] your glares #ISupportGaza #FreePalestine,” one post stated.

The incident shed light on the scrutiny and sensitivity surrounding public officials’ social media histories.
