The upcoming New York hush money trial of former President Donald Trump is facing allegations of potential bias based on the judge and prosecutor’s political ties.
Judge Juan Merchan, who imposed a gag order on Trump and denied delays, had family members who publicly oppose Trump on social media and his daughter works in Democratic politics.
Notably, his daughter has Vice President Kamala Harris and Adam Schiff as clients.

The trial comes as Trump emerges as the likely 2024 Republican nominee against President Biden.
Trump’s defense has opposed gag orders aligned with mainstream media opposition.
Other criminal cases against Trump have faced delays or issues with prosecutors.
The trial starting in mid-April could impact the 2024 presidential race.
