A majority of Americans (53%) believe that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are real, according to a 2020 YouGov poll. 60% of Americans say UFOs are an important mystery that needs to be solved.
UFOs have been a source of fascination and speculation for centuries. The number of reported UFO sightings has increased in recent years with the rise of social media and smartphone cameras.

One of the most famous UFO sightings in history occurred in 1947, when a pilot named Kenneth Arnold reported seeing a group of nine strange objects flying in formation near Mount Rainier in Washington state. Arnold described the objects as being “metallic” and “saucer-shaped.”
In 2017, the Pentagon released three videos of UFOs that had been recorded by U.S. Navy pilots. The videos showed unidentified objects moving rapidly and erratically through the sky. The Pentagon acknowledged that the videos were real, but they did not provide any explanation for what the objects were.
Weighing in on the national conversation, Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz revealed chilling information that he has seen footage of four UFOs that are “not human.”
Gaetz explained, “Several months ago, my office received a protected disclosure from Eglin Air Force Base indicating there was a UAP incident that required my attention.”

“I sought a briefing regarding that episode and brought Rep. Tim Burchett and Rep. Luna with me,” he continued. “We were initially denied access to images, radar, and conversation with all members of the flight crew.”
“After demanding access, the information was exclusively shown to me, and I was able to speak with one member of the flight crew who took the photo,” Gaetz said. “The image was of a UAP that I am not able to attach to any human capability, either from the United States or from any of our adversaries,” he continued.
“The pilot said he encountered a fleet of UAPs in diamond formation over the Gulf of Mexico, which was confirmed on radar that I reviewed,” Gaetz said. “He said approaching the UAPs caused video and other aircraft security features to malfunction. He saw what I can only describe as an orb – not of any human capability that I’m aware of,” he concluded .

The primary witnesses were U.S. intelligence official David Grusch, U.S. pilot Ryan Graves, and Navy veteran fighter pilot Commander David Fravor.
The three men reportedly witnessed the 2004 “Tic Tac” UFO and provided sworn testimony to Congress.
